“This thing listens to little ‘squirts’ of signals, short, irregular pulses that frustrate others who might be listening. It is told the identity of each device and displays it. An internal memory can be “rolled’ through to determine the distance to one or several tracers. You “shoot’ two sightings of direction to one device (you have to move around between shots) and this thing calculates the range to it, either by trigonometry or S/N strengths.”
