Every now and then. I get the sneaking feeling that l’m going to run into trouble that only a big bullet will stop. When I think I’m going into gang territories and might have to use my powers of persuasion to make them understand my point ot view, I bring my Field Grade Casull .454 revolver.
Freedom Arms developed a beautiful version of Dick CasuIl’s mammoth pistol that can take one ofthe heaviest bullet loads in a handgun. This load is so unusual, it is the only real gun- smithing I do. I load my own Lyman 300 grain flat point bullet and ream and crimp my own brass using my own blend of powder as well. lt takes time, but in a few hours I can produce enough ammo to maintain proficiency and a stockpile.
