‘Stealth’ as a generic term is often misunderstood. To make an aircraft ‘stealthy’ you try to make it less instrumentally observable. North Americans F-117A fighter/bomber is less detectable because it has a shape that generally reflects radar energy away from radar detectors. it also mixes cool air with the jet exhaust, which reduces its infrared emissions, plus it operates under radio silence. So it is merely an advancement of relatively simple technologies. It does take an inordinate amount of computer power to make such an ugly duckling fly, though.
